Dear Friends and Community Members,

I appreciate the opportunity to serve as one of your City Council members of our grand City of Corona.

Our City opened the beautiful new Animal Shelter and Community Center in 2016.  The new Foothill Parkway Westerly Extension also opened in 2016 connecting east and west portions of Corona after being in the plans for 30 years.

Are you interested in how the City spends its money?  It is all online. The city checkbook and budget is available for viewing online at www.OpenDataCorona.com

Corona was named last year by Business Leader as the 13th safest city in America.  This is a tremendous recognition for our city.

The freeway construction project is gigantic with a budget of 1.3 billion dollars and 3 1/2 years to complete.  The City of Corona is not doing this project as it is a Riverside County Transportation Commission project, but it certainly affects our residents ...including you and me.  I, like everyone else, look forward to the conclusion of the project, our local streets getting back to normal, and the freeway flowing more consistently.  It is currently 91% complete!

The City received international recognition for its Economic Development Team and its work with businesses.  Local businesses are growing, and we have just 2% vacancy in our business buildings.  Corona is pro business and jobs!  Monster Beverages is looking to expand their world headquarters here.

Corona remains an excellent community for living and working.  I have enjoyed living and working here since 1968, and I am proud serving as one of your Council Members.

Sincerely,
Jason Scott
